Measurement of earth gravitational field with the help of satellite navigation systems

Description

The main purpose of the project is creation of a system of Earth gravitational field continuous monitoring.

The basis of the project is the radio physical method of gravitational field measurement based on variation of electromagnetic radiation frequency in gravitational field. To make the measurements, the project provides for the use of radiation from EGNOS, WAAS, MSAS geostationary satellites, which ensures high stability of radiation frequency.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

It is proposed for the first time to use highly-stable radiation of navigation spacecraft for continuous global monitoring of Earth gravitational field.

The advantages consist in the use of already existing satellite navigation systems for continuous global monitoring of Earth gravitational field.

Areas of Application

The data of Earth gravitational field measurement may be used for:

  • prediction of natural cataclysms, such as earthquakes, convulsions of nature, tsunami;
  • mineral resources prospecting;
  • activities to reduce negative effect of gravitational field anomalies on environment and psycophysiological condition of people.
