In homogeneities and anomalies in the structures of Earth gravitational and magnetic fields may testify to availability of mineral resources deposits.

With the help of laser radar stations, it is intended to perform remote trajectory measurements of geophysical microsatellite orbital parameters and to calculate on their basis the Earth gravitational field parameters. For this purpose, on satellite board, the corner reflectors and three-axis accelerometer will be installed to take into account the action of non-gravitational disturbances on SC.

The measurement of Earth magnetic field parameters is ensured with the help of scientific instrumentation accommodated on the satellite board, including:

  • a three-axis ac magnetometer intended to measure a quasi-constant magnetic field vector;
  • a wave probe intended to measure magnetic field fluctuations, electric current density, and electric potential in ionospheric plasma.

Analysis of the Earth gravitational and magnetic fields parameters in order to determine mineral resources deposits will be performed according to the existing techniques and the techniques being in the development phase.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

The novelty of the project consists in comprehensive application of the data of gravitational and magnetic fields measurements to reveal inhomogeneities in the above fields with the purpose of mineral resources prospecting.

Areas of Application

Organization of continuous mineral resources prospecting:

  • Organization of work on study of geophysical fields in the framework of scientific research program;
  • Distribution of information among interested users.
