DSL Composition – Increase of Oil Recovery System

Description

At present there is a decrease of produced oil resources structure. A significant growth of oil deposits both onshore and offshore transferring to a late production stage is observed. In the oil resources structure the most part is falling to the share of heavy-recoverable reserves. As the oil fields production practice showed about 70% of heavy-recoverable oil is contained in low-permeable, stagnant zones and 30% - in capillary-confined and film oil. As a result of it, there is a necessity in the development and creation of new technologies increasing scope of deposits with heavy-recoverable resources and simultaneous increase of oil recovery oil. Growth of hydrocarbon production depends upon waterflood system improvement that becomes possible when applying physical-chemical, thermal methods and other oil recovery increase. Each of the above-mentioned methods influences on one of the factors (high oil viscosity and interphase tension at the oil-water border) decreasing oil recovery ratio. In this connection it is necessary to create method which will simultaneously impact on several factors decreasing efficiency of oil recovery. The suggested DSL system increases oil recovery and unlike other systems is economically profitable.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

The essence of the process deals with the use of composition allowing to significantly decreasing interphase tension between oil-water, increase angle of contact of selective rock’s wetting as well as decrease oil viscosity that will lead to oil volume decrease in blocked water in pores and residual oil-saturation as compared to traditionally applied methods. Outwardly, composition represents a liquid of a dark-brown color easily-soluble in the water. Average molecular mass is 256. Application of the given composition is possible in wide range of oil densities varying from a light (ρ < 870 kg/m3) to heavy (ρ > 920 kg/m3). DSL composition can be used in combination with polymer flooding. DSL solution impacts on rheological oil characteristics that positively influences on oil displacement process.

The conducted pilot works on Balakhany, Sabunchi fields etc. showed a significant increase of reservoir recovery that testifies to a high quality of composition.
