Description

Environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors, based on biogenic surfactants, for anticorrosion protection of equipment and constructions in oil and gas industry. They are synthesized using microorganisms of different genera and can successfully replace synthetic inhibiting substances. The can be used alone and in synergistic compositions with standard inhibitors.

The developed products have economic and environmental benefits. The synergistic anti-corrosion effect resulted from the combined use of biosurfactants and corrosion inhibitors allow the reduction of their concentrations, which assists in inhibiting product cost cut-ting and decrease in environmental impact. Inhibiting biosurfactants can be used at low concentrations due to their high activity and this makes them economically beneficial at price equal to synthetic surfactants. The biogenic inhibitors are characterized by low toxicity and biodegradability. Moreover, in case of entering the soil around oil and gas fields, they can accelerate the natural utilization of various contaminants.
