Description

Method of determination of influence of substance on nucleic acid supposes forming of liquid-crystal dispersion of nucleic acid. This method differs from other ones because of drying of solution of mixture of nucleic acid and the substance that influence nucleic acid is determined, liquid-crystal dispersion is forming as a tape with certain textures. And relation of area of texture on the tape to the area of all tape draws conclusion about influencing of the substance.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

The device and method allows carrying out estimation of influence of biological active compounds (BAC) on nucleic acids (NA) by the high-precision measurements of parameters of the tapes (NA-BAC films) obtained from substances at different conditions (moisture content, concentration, temperatures). Measuring parameters: areas of tapes and liquid crystals textures forming at different type of BAC in samples.

Areas of Application

Biotechnology. Pharmaceutical industry. Clinical biochemical diagnostics. The food-processing industry.


The principal scheme of the equipment:
1 – glass quartz cell; 2 – camera with the device for
air pumpdown; 3 – vacuum pump; 4 – thermostat;
5 – manometer; 6 – vacuum gate


The tape from the solution containing (a)10 mM NaCl.
T = 300C, H = 43%; (b) 0.2 mM CuCl2 and 10 mM NaCl.
T = 400C, H = 38%.
