Description

The essence of the method is the determination of the induction period of oxidation, which is the time interval between the moment when the sample reaches the preset temperature (1100C) and the moment when the oxidant (O2) pressure in the hermetically sealed measuring system begins to drop sharply.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

The advantage of the method developed is the combination, in the measuring system, of the relatively cheap mass-produced components and ordinary computer software; this makes it possible to obtain test results which are superior to those obtained by standardized methods-analogs in goodness of fit. The method and device developed compare favorably with analogs in that they allow one to effect the kinetic conditions of oxygen absorption by the sample both in a homogeneous solution and in a heterophase fluid system with dispersed substrate.

Areas of Application

The method developed can be employed in the laboratories of fat-and-oil industry, food and pharmaceutical industry, chemical plants, research and design organizations.

Stage of development

PCT application documents have been prepared for filing to a patent agency.
