Device for regeneration (desorption) of sorbents, for example zeolites and aluminosilicates, by high frequency electromagnetic field was developed and realized. Unlike similar devices, for example PS-1, that used tubular electric heating and the heating-up air for drying sorbents, in the developed device the sorbent's heating and drying is produced due to volumes dispersion and absorption of energy of electromagnetic field in sorbent, saturated with moisture at the reduced pressure (forevacuum, p ~ 104 Pa).

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

Productivity of labor increases in 3-5 times, energy-savings (efficiency increases in 6 times); increase in quantity of regeneration cycles of sorbents in 5-6 times with insignificant loss of sorbent amount; uniform heating of the saturated sorbent in absorber volume; decrease of massdimension factor of device characteristics; mobility that allows producing regeneration of transformer oils in the field conditions; improvement of sanitary-hygienic conditions of devices exploitation.

Areas of Application

The device is worked out and introduced in electric power industry of Ukraine and Russia for dehydration of transformer oils by adsorption method. These oils are used in the electric power industry as an electro-insulator and for the heat rejection. After small structural revisions the device is suitable for high-quality drying of any friable and viscous substances without corrupting of substance and losses of its functional properties.

Stage of Development

Two fundamentals and two applied research works were conducted. The innovative project was fulfilled. The experimental model of device named BPRS–2 was developed, produced and tested in laboratory and in the field conditions.

Nowadays an operating model is the property of Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of NAS of Ukraine and can be demonstrated to the interested customer, or to be improved for solving similar problems connected with drying of substance.
