Bimetal products such as copper-aluminium, steel

Product

  • bimetal washers: steel-copper, steel-aluminium, copper-aluminium;
  • bimetal plates: steel-copper, steel-aluminium, copper-aluminium;
  • copper-aluminium adapters of various designs;
  • explosion welding, bimetal production, composite materials.

Description

Bimetals consist of two or three layers of dissimilar metals which provide a wider complex of necessary properties. Manufacture of bimetal products is carried out by explosion welding.

This technology allows:

  • to reduce the consumption of scarce and expensive materials (copper, brass, aluminium, nickel, etc.);
  • to realize the increased strength of a composition in comparison with the clad layer metal;
  • to have an opportunity of a better combinations of the price and quality, price and consumer properties in one material as compared with the basic material.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

High strength and electrical conductivity of the junction zone (strength of the seam in steel + aluminum bimetal increased from 6 kg/mm2 to 14 kg/mm2).

Areas of Application

  • chemical industry;
  • instrument-making industry;
  • automotive industry;
  • tool manufacture.
