We offer the creation of new manufacture of “siliconorganic compounds” on a basis of row materials existing in Georgia (quartz, copper), i.e. production of siliconorgnic monomers, oligomers and polymers and their application. Our proposal is directed to organization of new factory for producing of various initial organochlorosilnes by direct synthesis and products on their basis. It is possible to involve in this project collaborative production for Azerbaijan and Armenia as well.

Development of Polymeric Coatings for Long-Term Shelf-Life of Citrus

Citrus treated by siliconorganic solutions

To increase the shelf life of citrus we have developed disinfection and storage methods. The main approach of our project comprises covering of citrus by thin polymer films, which considerably decrease evaporation of water from the product during the storage; in turn this prevents the product deterioration. Besides, the cover hinders the air exchange and penetration of fungous bacteria.

Surface Coatings from Natural (Porous) Stones

The surface of processed off-grade basalt.

Project comprises manufacturing surface coatings from natural (porous) stones. Georgia is rich with basalt stone deposits. These deposits contain both the homogeneous and defective fragments. Therefore at extraction of this mineral and following sawing both valid and off-grade (resin containing) materials are obtained.

Control of Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Properties by Radical Beam Quasiepitaxy Method

The radical beam quasiepitaxy method (RBQE) enables us to grow quasi-epitaxial layers of ZnO on the surface of binary compound such as ZnO, ZnS, ZnSe, ZnTe. During the formation of new layers under RBQE the non-metal component comes from the gaseous phase and the metal-component from the basic crystal.
