Quasi-Optical Solid-State Oscillator

Description

Millimeter band QSO -Quasi-Optical Oscillator with open spherical-echelette oscillating system is a source of high-stable electromagnetic oscillations. QSOs were developed at the fixed frequencies with mechanical frequency control up to 0.5 GHz. The oscillators have no need for forced cooling. The basic characteristics of the developed QSOs presented in the table below. Instability of frequency of the oscillators during a second space term is not more than 10-8 at power consumption source instability not worse than 10-4.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

The increase of the long-term stability of the frequency is achieved by the application of the high-Q quasi-optical resonators with the angle-echelette mirror that made of the special materials as well as by the using of the thermally stabilized hermetic chambers filled with the inert gas.


Areas of Application

They can be used in the scientific aim, in spectroscopy, in microwave engineering for example as the low-noise heterodynes and pump oscillators for the parametric amplifiers.
