Ceramic nanocomposites for hybrid bearings

Description

Obtained research samples of nanoceramics (friction coefficient is equal to 0.3 - 0.5 with 50 - 70 nm of grain size) based on silicon nitride by designed energy efficient modes of sintering with controlled speed of compression. The material shows 2 times better results in tribotechnical tests compared with analogues that are used in hybrid bearings.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

Energy efficiency of modes of nanoceramics’ production, high wear resistance at low coefficient of dry friction of nanoceramics. Ability to work at high temperatures (up to 9000C) in hostile environments.

Areas of Application

  • mechanical engineering,
  • aerospace engineering,
  • processing industry,
  • oil and gas industries.
