New Methods Of Laser Interferometry For Quality Control And Determination Of Stressed State Of Welded Joints

Description

A method and compact unit have been developed for in-process determination of residual stresses in structures using electron speckle-interferometry in combination with drilling of blind holes of 1 mm diameter and depth, used for relaxation of stresses. A software and equipment have been developed for automatic quality control of structures manufactured of different structural materials using the method of electron shearography.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

Technology and compact unit of 205x205x250 mm size and ~ 1.2 kg mass have been developed, allowing determination of residual stresses in structures with a high accuracy (6 % of yield strength of material being examined) using the method of electron speckle-interferometry.

Compact equipment and a package of programs have been developed allowing automatic control of defects in examined objects manufactured of metallic and non-metallic materials using the method of electron shearography.
