Models for constructing radio wave devices and systems for monitoring and technical diagnostics of the production equipment indoors

Description

The methods, models, and relevant software are developed for:

  • constructing devices and systems meant for monitoring the integral coolant-moderator leakage from water-moderated water-cooled power reactors inside the reactor compartment of nuclear power stations;
  • measuring vibrations of equipment components.

These models along with the software allow one to calculate the characteristics of the structure chart of devices and systems as well as of their separate units (microwave units, input blocks, radio-frequency units, selection system, unit for measuring input parameters, etc.) under operating conditions taking into account the customer requirements.

The development is based on the fundamental radiophysical regularities being adapted for the conditions inside working areas or inside APS reactor compartments. The simulation of the control device operation is based on the model of the generalized measuring system suggested by Fal’kovich and Khomyakov. The model of the interaction between an electro-magnetic field and the monitored space has been developed in terms of Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction formula.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

  • For the first time, the retransmission method has been used for detecting a leakage and vibrations over small distances (from fractions to tens of meters). The use of this method has allowed one to increase the measurement accuracy and to extend the range of application of radiophysical devices.
  • The accuracy of the humidity variation measurement is determined by tenths of N-unit.

Areas of Application

  • Monitoring of manufacturing processes, production areas and nearby space.
  • Monitoring of the integral coolant-moderator leakage from water-moderated water-cooled reactors, monitoring of vibrations of the equipment components.
