Description

Noncontact level sensor of liquid and bulk materials is based on sonar which illuminates the object under inspection by supersonic signals. The delay time of the reflected signals is proportional to the measurable distance and developed algorithm of signal processing permits to measure the distance to the object taking into account the propagation velocity of supersonic waves in the atmosphere. The sensor consists of transceiver and display unit, which provides signal processing and indication of the measured data.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

  • elaboration of original algorithm of signal processing and software that provides high measurement accuracy for rough surface of the material;
  • increased operational distance in comparison with analogous optical devices regardless of weather conditions and material structure;
  • measuring of absolute distance without any calibration.

Areas of Application

The sensor is intended to measure the level of such materials as: oil products, alcohol-containing liquids, condensed gas, bulk materials (granules 5 ÷ 300 mm), aggressive and explosive materials.
