Remote sensor of displacements

Description

Remote sensor of displacements is based on solid state coherent radar in millimeter wave band which illuminates the object under inspection, for example TV-tower.

Radar provides measurements of the distance change between radar and the illuminated area of the tower, i.e. displacement. Sensor includes the radar and interface unit intended mainly for processing of the scattered signals before further processing in PC. To restore parameters of the displacements the special algorithm for signal processing was developed for measuring parameters of displacements including time structure and spectrums with high accuracy.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

Innovative aspect consists in algorithm of signal processing and software that solve the problem of uncertainty of phase measurements of distance.

Main advantages in comparison with common used optical sensors are the next:

  • sensor provides measurements at long distances, independently of weather conditions and object structure;
  • sensor does not require any calibration process and accuracy potentially depends only on accuracy of radar frequency measurements.

Areas of Application

Measurements of displacements of high-rise buildings, bridges, platforms, etc. In building industry, oil and gas industry, etc.
