General Information

National University of Uzbekistan is the oldest and biggest University in Uzbekistan. 21 Academicians, 225 Professors and Doctors of Sciences, 525 Associated Professors and Candidates of Sciences, 750 researchers and technical workers, 60 PhD researchers, 250 postgraduate students work in the University.

The total number of students is more than 12000. There are 13 faculties, 130 Chairs, R&D Institute of Applied Physics, 15 Study Research Laboratories, a number of small enterprises, Fundamental library and Faculty libraries, publishers, Palace of Culture, Training Institute for Teachers, Computer Centers, Academic Lyceum and Open Learning Center at the University.

Valuable Technology Offerings

More than 1000 scientific articles have been published every year. Over 30 scientific researches have taken out licenses, and the results of these researches are being introduced into the technological processes. For instance, such medical supplies as Polymetacrylin used as haemostatic, for burns and skin transplantation; Polytetranem for stomach diseases; Polyamidin for preventing cattle diseases, Platex for high blood-pressure normalization; Inebrin used as haemostatic, for diathesis and allergy; Savrats for jaundice, etc. More than 10 kinds of plants of the family of anabasis, saforo, ammotamus, ammodendron, termoxis widely spread in Central Asia have been studied and nearly 50 alcaloids have been selected. Also, the scientific achievements in the field of applied physics, information technologies, ecology, crop capacity of soils, chemical synthesis, biotechnologies, gas and oil prospecting, etc. found their practice applications.

Scientific Cooperation and Technology Transfer

The international relations of the University have been expanded every year. Particularly, the collaboration agreements have been signed with Moscow State University, Lodza University (Poland), Russian State Hydrometeorology Institute, Istanbul University (Turkey), National University (Beijing), Seattle University (USA), Exceter University (GB), DAAD (Germany). Students, post-graduates and doctorates are getting trainings in the leading universities and research centers of Europe, USA, Japan, Korea, etc.
