Scientifically-Founded System of Garden and Vineyard Protection against Pest Organisms on the Base of Biocenosis Study

Description

The scientists of the Research Institute for Plant Protection have developed the method for fruit orchards and vineyard protection from pests and diseases. Special threat gets the appearance on these crops such pests as leaf-roller moths, mites, brown fruit rot, and downy mildew. Introduction of predator mite Amblyseius cucumeris for control of suctorial pests and microbial preparations against chewing pests and diseases significantly will improve the production of fruits, berries and grapes.

Scientists of the Institute for the first time in Uzbekistan conduct the wide scale study of the natural entomophages (beneficial insects) of all appeared in orchards and grapes pests. On the basis of these data the atlas of all entomophages in orchards and grapes in Uzbekistan will be composed.

Innovative Aspect and Main Advantages

  • Conduct wide scale experiments on introduction of predator mite into agrobiocenosis of fruit orchards vineyards;
  • Taking the samples of predator mites and study their survivorships and gluttony features in laboratory conditions;
  • Release of predator mite in to orchards and vineyards;
  • Production trials and tests of microbial preparations for control of chewing herbivores pests and diseases orchards and vineyards.

Areas of Application

The Integrated Pest Management in the gardens and vineyards.

Stage of Development

  • Microbiology preparations is laboratory tested;
  • Search for partners for the further studies and cooperation.
